Different boiler designs and technical solutions are considered such as: fossil fueled steam boilers, fluized bed boilers, boilers for municipal waste, biomase fired boilers and boilers for combined steam and gas plants. In detail are considered the design and technical solutions of turbines such as: condensing steam turbines, turbine stages, steam turbine sealing system and steam turbine balance of plant. The steam turbines for nuclear power plants are also presented, as well as the steam extractions. In the same chapter gas turbines and combined steam and gas turbines are also considered. The concise presentation of electrical equipment in thermal energy plants are presented in detail, including: cooling system (all technical solutions), main fuel handling system (for solidfuels, oil and gas fuel), auxiliary fuel handling system, ash handling system, chemical water treatment plant, system of raw water, auxiliary steam system, system of technical gases and environment protection systems.
From reviewers
The book offers a great help to students, as well as to engineers in practice in the understanding of a very complex processes in thermal power plants. The book thoroughly covers all the most important design features of the main equipment of thermal power plants.
(Full Professor Dušan Gvozdenac PhD)
The book provides a good overview of equipment, devices, and systems in power plants and, due to the abudance of data and graphics, it is very suitable for mastering the knowledge, but also as a source of information for engineers in practice. The book is written as a reference for students, but also as a source of information for engineers in practice. The book is written as a reference for students, but also as handbook with good descriptions, practical information and graphics of equipment, devices and systems of thermal power plants. Since the book is written in English language it enables foreign students who have classes in English to use it. The quality of the Englosh language is good.

In 1977 he was employed in Energy Combine Kolubara, where he made career from leading engineers to technical director of the thermal power plant Kolubara B. He was also director of Alumina Plant Birac and later Secretary for Industry in the Yugoslav Chamber of Commerce and Industry. Vojin Grković became Associate Professor at the University of Novi Sad in 1988, and Full Professor at the same university in 1994. At the university he first worked part time, and since 2003 he has been working full time. He holds lessons at the engineereing studies for bachelor degree, as well as at the PhD studies, all in the field of thermal turbomachinery, thermal power plants and energy systems. He is author or co-author of 8 books. He has published or public announced more than 120 scientific papers, 30 of which are abroad. He is the author or co-author of several studies and projects, some of which were funded by the Ministry of Science of Serbia. Vojin Grković is member of New York Academy of Sciences and International Management Academy.
Milana Guteša was born in 1988 in Zrenjanin. She graduated at the Faculty of Technical Sciences in Novi Sad, Department of Environmental Engineering in 2011 and at the Department of Energy and Process Engineering in 2013. She got Master of Science degree at the same faculty at the Department of Environmental Engineering in 2012. At study she was scholar of scholarship fund Dositeja. Now she is student of the second year of mechanical engineering PhD studies (at Department of Energy and Process Engineering).
