Course specification
Course is active from 01.10.2010.. The goal of this subject is to introduce the basic electronic circuits which represent the analog and digital interfaces of current modern computer systems to students. With special emphasis on circuits which are used in modern industrial managing systems. The acquired knowledge is used in future education and engineering subjects. Getting acquainted with the usable characteristics of passive electronic components: resistor, capacitor and inductance. Getting to know the principles by which semiconductors components (diodes, bipolar and unipolar transistors, thyristors and triacs) work and their basic characteristics. Basic electronic circuits with discreet components: a transistor as an amplifier and as a switch , voltage regulators , current sources... The usage of thyristors and triacs. (). Operating amplifiers and basic circuits with operating amplifiers. Digital and analog port characteristics and circuits for their adaption to outsider systems. The basic principles of projecting hardware interfaces based on analog electronic circuits. Theoretical aspects are presented at lecture classes, with practical examples. In the laboratory practice classes and through the obligatory project tasks students further develop this knowledge and gain practical skills. Interactive work with students is achieved at consultations.
