The development of the abilities for studying and designing the residential interiors. Gained knowledge and skills are applied in further education, especially in the scope of architectural design and interior design. After the course, students are mastering the interior design basics and the use of different materials in the design process. Through a series of samples and case studies, the following issues are reviewed: formal and physical characheristics of the interior design materials and its dispostion and classification (constructive and decorative materials, colour, texture, physical characheristics...), the treatment of materials. The rules of composition and disposition of elements, the principles of harmony, the balance of masses and space, solid and empty, light and shadow - the ways of forming a homogeneous entity by grouping different materials and shapes. The use of materials in the process of shaping the architectural program. Lectures; Practice; Consultations; Project design 1, Project design 2; Final exam.
