Course is active from 01.10.2013.. During the course, to students will be presented theoretical and methodological approaches and research directions of architecture and urbanism in the second half of the 20th century and early 21st century, with special emphasis on the interdependence of architectural / urban design theories and ideas, and the social context in which they arise.The new tendencies in contemporary architectural practice will be analyzed in order to understand the complex relationship between architecture / urban design theories and concepts, practices, and social context, so that students would be able to adopt adequate conceptual and design principles. By fulfilling the obligations of the course, students will be trained to develop a methodological approach and analytical thinking that will enable them to develop ideas and concepts, and apply them appropriately in the process of architectural / urban design Contemporary theories and concepts in architectural and urban design; Use of methods and techniques in the analysis of architectural / urban design; Case Studies; Architecture / Urban Design Competitions as a method in the research and establishment of new strategies and the concepts in the development of contemporary cities; Use of modern technology in the design process The method of critical analysis; illustrative-demonstrative methods, methods of synthesis of acquired knowledge; Interaction between participants in the learning process
