Course specification
Course is active from 13.08.2017.. Acquisition of deeper knowledge in the field of cutting technologies and non-conventional materials processing by material removal, which are used in the construction of products and the selection of the most favorable processing methods. Acquired knowledge should enable the proper selection of the type of processing procedure by chip removing materials for give a specific production problem. For the selected type of processing the acquired knowledge can be properly designed product development technologies, the choice of the most favorable processing regimes and the ability to design the machining systems.
Importance and application of material processing technology in contemporary production. Description of the system for processing by cutting and the concept of an integrated production by computer. General cutting theory: chip formation, cutting forces and cutting temperatures, cooling and lubricating agents, tool wear, material machinability, productivity, quality and precision of machining. Applied cutting methods: turning, drilling, milling, grinding, broaching, threading and gears production. Machines for cutting technologies (classic and NU machine tools for individual, serial and mass production). Significance, division and justification of application of unconventional processing procedures. Contemporary unconventional processing methods: abrasive jet machining, water jet machining, ultrasonic machining, electro-erosive machining, laser machining, electron beam machining, plasma machining, chemical machining, electrochemical processing. Trend of development and application of new high-productive Teaching is done interactively in the form of lectures and laboratory exercises. In the lectures the theoretical part of the material is presented, accompanied by the characteristic examples from the practice for easier understanding of the material. Laboratory exercises are practically applied to the acquired knowledge on the available equipment. In addition to lectures and exercises, consultations are also held regularly.
