Acquiring skills and knowledge for designing pump and compressor stations as parts of the water distribution systems, petrochemical facilities, pneumatic systems and systems for natural gas processing and distribution. Designing, utilization, control, exploitation and maintenance of pump and compressor stations for various applications. Pump stations in water distribution and waste water systems: basic parts, various schemes of construction, pipes, valves, control equipment, safety equipment, specific problems, calculations, testing, control, maintenance, reference standards.
Pump stations in petrochemical industry: basic parts, various schemes of construction, pipes, valves, control equipment, safety equipment, specific problems, calculations, testing, control, maintenance, reference standards.
Air compressor stations: basic parts, various schemes of construction, pipes, valves, control equipment, safety equipment, specific problems, calculations, testing, control, maintenance, reference standards.
Compressor stations for natural gas: basic parts, various schemes of construction, pipes, valves, control equipment, safety equipment, specific problems, calculations, testing, control, maintenance, reference standards. Lectures: combination of modern (presentations, simulations) and classic (chalk and blackboard, physical models)
Numerical practice: (10 weeks): numerical and graphical problems, computer aided calculation and design of pump and compressor stations.
Laboratory practice (5 weeks). testing of valve characteristics on laboratory test stands.
