Acquiring of knowledge about power distribution systems and work in power distribution company. Acquiring of knowledge about components and configurations of power distribution networks. Determination of basic requirements that need to be met by power distribution system. Acquiring of knowledge about basic calculations that are performed for power distribution networks. Acquiring of basic knowledge about building the distribution network while satisfying users’ and distribution company’s requirements. Knowledge about basic concepts of power distribution systems. Knowledge about components and configurations of power distribution networks. The ability of students to perform basic calculations for power distribution systems. Knowledge about basic methodologies used for building and managing power distribution system, as well as for making economically justified decisions. Knowledge about methods used for the protection of human life against dangerous voltages. Basic components of power distribution network: primary and secondary substations, cable and overhead lines, consumers and distributed generators. Basic configurations of high voltage, medium voltage and low voltage distribution networks. Reliability analysis. Estimation of consumer peak load. State estimation in radial distribution networks. Treatment of the star in primary substations. Distribution automation and its impact on the reliability of the power supply. Distribution network planning.
