Course is active from 01.10.2011.. Introduction students with basic risk components. Acquiring basic knowledge about natural hazards and risks caused by human activities. To master the appropriate activities that need to be realized before, during and after accidents with the goal of holistic approach to risk management. Students will be trained to understand the phenomenology of risk and identify potentially harmful events that can significantly threaten property and people. Students will also acquire the skills necessary to build resilient and sustainable environment. Catastrophic events and fires through history. History of risk and fire protection management. Terminology and definitions. Introduction to the risk function and its basic components. Introduction to the cycle of risk management in the events with catastrophic consequences. Introduction to institutional and legislative frameworks of risk and fire protection management. Insurance and risk and fire protection management. The role of information and communication technologies in risk and fire protection management. Teaching on the course includes lectures and auditory exercises.
