To acquire basic and applied knowledge in the field of remote sensing and computer image processing. Acquired knowledge is used in professional courses, as well as in the recognition and in solving the engineering problems. Introduction to remote sensing. Technological bases. Sensor platforms. Interpretation of sensor images. Image pre-processing. Image transformations. Filtering. Interpretation methods in remote sensing. Subjective interpretation, properties and limitations. Interactive interpretation with partially automated functions. Image modification. Highlighting, ranking and reducing the amount of marks. Classification. Segmentation. Algorithms for classification and segmentation. Automated classification. Supervised classification. Registration and geocoding. Image merging. Standard patterns and algorithms. Quality control and accuracy assessment. Programme tools for remote sensing.
