Provide the students the knowledge from the field of electromagnetic interference (EMI) and electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) An ability to design microelectronics circuits which have immunity on EMI Sources of electromagnetic interference (LF electric and magnetic fields, lightning, radio transmitters, switching transients, the electrostatic discharge). EMI coupling paths. Practical examples of application of EMI (electromagnetic interference) and EMC (electromagnetic compatibility) regulations. Concept of EMI/EMC protection in modern integrated circuits. ?SD (Electrostatic discharge) protection. Components for protection (resistors, capacitors, inductors). Varistors. Ferrites. Simulation of different EMI structures. Decreasing of immunity. EMI measurement techniques. Power supply filters. Shielding. Grounding. System design to meet EMC regulations. System configuration. PCB design guidelines for EMI immunity. Lectures; computing practice; laboratory practice; consultations
