Course specification
Course is active from 01.10.2007.. Enabling students to study and design urban units and fragments. Acquired knowledge is used in further education, especially in professional courses dealing with urban planning and design. The course is parallel to the course Residential Object and Complex Design 1, and should reflect duality of the built environment, built and not-built, where architectural units and settlements are constantly interlaced. Analysis of the basic elements of the built environment, street, square and block are the starting basis in this course. Different aspects of basic elements of urban structure are studied and their assessment is done with an objective to notice problems in design and building. Course grade is formed based on the lecture and practice attendance, success at the colloquium, written and oral part of the examination.
