The objective of the course is to introduce students to the problems of designing different types of renewable energy sources (RES). Students will be familiar with the design principles and with the related technical regulations. Also, by studying the legal regulations, students will became familiar with the procedures that need to be fulfilled in the process of building RES facilities.

Students will be able to design different types of RES, both in terms of knowledge of the technical rules and procedures, as well as in terms of knowledge of the technical and legal regulations in the field RES.

Different types of RES and their specificities from the aspect of design. Type of technical documentation in accordance with the Planning and Construction Law. Scope and content of technical documentation (in accordance with the Planning and Construction Law) with regard to the type of project and technical documentation. Types of projects with particular reference to the concept solution, preliminary design and project for building permit. Interpretation of the results of the preliminary analysis of the site potential from the aspect of justification of investment. Design procedures. Working on a practical example of the RES project. Examples of good practice.
