Power electronic components in the industry. Rectifiers. Controlled rectifiers. Elementary calculations around a plant as part of a DC motor. Example industrial controlled rectifier: functional units, power connections, control terminals, software adapter, commissioning. Inverters. Drives. Basic calculations about the frequency converter as part of the drive with AC motors. Example of industrial inverters: functional units, power connections, control terminals, software converter, commissioning. The power supply. An example of the AC unit PLC automation systems for industrial facilities. Other special applications of power electronics devices: battery chargers, welding machines, high voltage applications. The subject will be study through the presentation of theoretical principles in lectures, problem solving appropriate to the auditory exercises and the practical work in the laboratory with the aim of mastering the skills of application of power converters in the industry.
