Acquiring basic knowledge in the field of applied electrical engineering, transformers, electromechanical energy conversion, electric machines and drives After the successful completion of the course, students will acquire basic knowledge about transformers and various types of rotating electrical machines, as well as their use in electrical drives. Understand the basic principles of electromechanical conversion of power and operation of electric drives. Principles of electromechanical energy conversion. Parts of rotary electric machines. Types of electrical machines, basic elements and characteristics. Direct current machines, asynchronous machines, synchronous machines, stepping motors. Transformers. Electric drives: advantages, system elements, characteristics. Power supply of electric machines and drives. Lectures, Exercises, Laboratory work.
