Course is active from 01.10.2009.. Within this course students will be able to design electrical installations of residential buildings. They will be able to perform design of substations for transmission and distribution systems. The course deals with the electrical equipment that is used for electrical installations design and planning, dimensioning of equipment, the principles of design and the design itself. At the end of the course the students will be qualified to take the design of electrical facilities installation. Students will get acquainted of design and implementation of electrical installations of residential and business buildings. Principles of equipment dimensioning, standards, recommendations and technical solutions for electrical installations of residential and commercial properties. Design of electrical lighting. Consumers of electrical energy and electrical components. Voltage drops. Grounding. Protection issues. Electrical energy consumption metering. Lightning protection system. Facilities for the transmission and distribution of electricity. Short circuit, thermal and mechanical calculations. Electrical transients in the substations. Substations design. Lectures and auditory exercises are planed for training and learning about problems and solutions of design and construction of electrical installations for residential buildings and electrical substations. With laboratory exercises, students are trained for practical work, i.e. for the development of projects using the latest software tools, such as AutoCAD
