Course is active from 14.11.2018..

Introducing students to basic principles of optimization and control technologies, and to enable them in using those technologies in architectural design.
Students will be trained to recognize and formulate design problems in light of optimization and control theories, as well as to apply corresponding modern technologies in design process.
1. Introduction to modern optimization and control technologies. 2. Mathematical models of natural phenomena: temporal and spatial dynamics. Continuous and discrete models (in space and in time). Growth models. Model classification. 3. Positive and negative feedback 4. State automata and cellular automata 5. Basic concepts of optimization: criteria, constraints, algorithm 6. Search algorithms 7. Genetic algorithm and evolutionary techniques.
