Enabling students to acquire modern theoretical and practical knowledge about color as a significant segment of engineering animation. Acquired knowledge is used in further education and professional work. Light as an electromagnetic wave. Corpuscular nature of light. Interaction of light with matter (absorption and scattering of light). Reflection and refraction of light, total reflection. Dispersion. Light interference. Diffraction. Polarization of light. Optical instruments. Physics of sight and vision. Color as a natural phenomenon. Observation and differentiation of colors. Color in nature. Color systems. Spectral colors mixing. Light sources. Laser basics and application, holography. Basic concepts in photometry, quantities and units. The course is held using modern didactic means and methods interactively in the form of lectures and practice.
