Course is active from 05.10.2012.. This is a fundamental course which should enable students to understand important and unbreakable relationship between energy, society, economy and environment. It is pointed out the necessity of a multidisciplinary approach to the problems faced by society and the economy. The knowledge is going to be a base for further study and monitoring of other specialized courses. Development of socio awareness about the environment and energy. Historical development of society and energy. The first and second industrial revolution, a third (IT) revolution. The concept of energy, types of energy and energy technologies. Social aspects of energy production and use. State of the environment as a result of human activity and energy use. Projections and scenarios of long-term trends of the energy sector. The relationship of energy intensity and GDP. Reflection of the future development and growth of civilization on the economy and the environment. Functioning of the energy market and price trends.
