Subject: Computational continuum mechanics
(17 -
M4401) Basic Information
Course specification
Course is active from 01.10.2009.. Enabling students to formulate basic governing equations of continuum mechanics and then to used them for solving practical problems. The acquired knowledge enables students to analyze stress conditions, deformations, and constitutive equations in the field of continuum mechanics. It is supposed that the student is trained to physically analyze, mathematically formulate and then solve the problem in continuum mechanics.
Elements of tensor algebra and analysis. Kinematics and dynamics of continuum. Constitutive equations for fluids and solids. Linear elasticity. Basic equations of non-Newtonian fluids. Viscoelasticity. Lectures. Auditory practice. Consultations. Part of lectures and auditory practice are presented by the use of computer.
