Enabling students to understand and use technologies used to create web content, and introducing the basic concepts of web design.
Students will be capable of individual production of complex web content.
Web design basic technologies: HTML, XHTML, CSS. Internet and HTTP protocol fundamentals. Web and multimedia content. Concept of media streaming. Web page usability concepts: page design, content-layout design, overall site design. Web sites for users with special needs. Multilingual support and localization.
Lectures, Computer Lab Exercises, Consultations, Homework assignment. Content of the course is explained during the lecture classes, using appropriate didactic material. Computer Lab Exercises are aimed at mastering practical issues, through solving practical problems - assisted or individually, and by completing compulsory homework assignments. Students are required to demonstrate appropriate capability of solving problems individually. Final exam is performed through conversation about specific problems, or through written answers on specific questions related to completed assignments. Consultations are used to further explain any subject covered on lecture classes or computer lab exercises.
