Course specification
Course is active from 01.10.2005.. Enabling students in abstract thinking and acquiring basic knowledge in the field of advanced mathematics and mathematical statistics. Acquired knowledge is used in solving mathematical models in professional courses. Basic notions in multiple integrations (double, triple, line and surface integrals). Basic notions in the probability theory (classical probability, random variables - discrete and continuous). Statistic research. Descriptive statistics. Confidence intervals. Testing statistic hypotheses. Linear regression and correlation. At lectures, theory is presented to students and illustrated with relevant examples. At auditory practice, student solve concrete tasks that supplement the theoretical course content. Teacher and assistant help students in mastering the course content during consultations. Examination comprises 2 tests and 3 partial examinations taken in written form, followed by oral examination. Examination grade is formed on the basis of points from tests and final examinations.
