Introduction to the fundamentals of visual communication. Introduction to various ways of experiencing and presenting of space and objects in space, especially in relation to different artistic practices (through modelling, drawing, spatial intervention). Introduction to basic drawing techniques for presenting real spatial situations. The course gives practical knowledge and skills enabling students to present space and objects in space, using media of drawing, sculpture (modelling) and art intervention. Ability to present perceived space relations through a drawing or a three dimensional model. Familiarity with visual expression and visual research methods as means in expressing ideas and artistic statement. Basics in visual communications. Analysis of composition, dynamics of elements of artwork together with the use of visual elements in creating sensation. Introduction to drawing and basic sculpting techniques of modelling. Learning the basics of precise transfer of proportions and linear perspective. Practical sessions, lectures, workshops. Consultations. Occasional visits to exhibition venues. Critical analysis of the works produced in the course.
During the classes of practical sessions, students solve a series of drawing tasks, which unite into the project – the portfolio of artworks.
