Course is active from 01.10.2014..

Acquiring knowledge, competencies and academic skills in the field of fluid mechanics necessary for understanding of different systems for transport and distribution of fluids. Getting to know elements, the way of operation and control of two specific systems for the transport and distribution of fluids: oil (representative of system with flow of liquid) and gas pipeline system (representative of system with flow of gas). Acquiring of knowledge, competencies and academic skills connected to systems for transport and distribution of fluids. Development of creative abilities and mastering of specific practical skills related to systems for transport and distribution of fluids.
Ability of students for solving of specific problems of fluid mechanics. Mastering of methods, procedures and processes related to systems for transportation and distribution of fluids by getting to know with elements, the way of operation and control of oil and gas pipeline system. Students are trained for modeling and dimensioning certain parts of systems for transport and distribution of fluids. Ability to critically and self-critical thinking and approach during solving of specific problems of transport and distribution of fluids. Development of skills and ability in the field of transport and distribution of fluid.
Fundamentals of fluid mechanics: physical properties of fluid, continuity equation and Bernoulli equation. Historical development and description of oil and gas pipeline systems. Basic elements of oil pipeline systems: oil wells, pipes, reservoirs, oil production plants, pump stations, heating stations, pig oil pipeline stations, corrosion oil pipeline protection stations, oil regulating and metering stations, oil pipeline telemetry and oil consumers. Basic elements of gas pipeline systems: gas wells, pipes, reservoirs, gas production plants, underground gas storages, compressor stations, gas regulating and metering stations, pig gas pipeline stations, corrosion protection gas pipeline stations, gas pipeline telemetry and gas consumers.
Teaching is done with modern didactic means and methods, interactively in the form of lectures, laboratory and computational exercises. In addition to lectures and exercises, consultations are also regularly held. The lectures present the theoretical part of the material accompanied by characteristic examples for easier understanding of the subject matter. Students practically apply acquired knowledge during laboratory exercises by using of available laboratory equipments.
