Introduction to basic and advanced algorithms and theoretical and practical fundamentals of operational research, together with mathematical tools of formal decision making. Acquired knowledge and skils will be usefull in solving practical engineering problems. Also, the subject is used as basis for future courses. Theoretical fundamentals of operational research and decision theory. Linear programming. Transportation problems. Network programming. Stocking problems. Integer programming. Heuristical methods. Network planning and control. Fundamentals of game theory. Selected case studies and problems. Lectures; Computer excercises. Consultations. The exam is written and oral. Written exam is made of at least 4 separate assignments. Each assignment must be completed with at least 50% in order for the exam to be passed. The curiculum can be separated into two parts, each of which can be taken independently. Oral exam is organized in accordance with the list of exam topics. Final mark is formed by measuring the success in the written exam, oral exam, and activity on classes and excercises.
