Course specification
Course is active from 01.10.2011.. Mastering the theoretical basics and technologies of the TCP/IP networks. The student lerned the basic theoretical knowledge of TCP/IP networks. The student has obtained practical knowledge that enables him to maintain local area networks based on TCP/IP model. Standards in networks and committees for standardization. Passive and active equipment required for realization of computer networks, structured cabling. TCP/IP network: ISO/OSI reference model, TCP/IP model, protocol basics of OSI 1, ethernet , PP , basic principles of IP, basic principles of UDP, wireless LAN technology, ISP, the basic principles of TCP and the basic principles of DNS. Communication devices that works on OSI II and OSI III levels. Teaching methods are: Lectures, laboratory exercises, homework assignments and consultations. In lectures, using the necessary didactic means, contents of the subject is presented to students and they are stimulated the active participation in lectures. Practical part of the course students master on laboratory exercises through mandatory tasks that they solve with the help of the teacher or independently, and through the independent preparation of mandatory and optional homework. The student is obliged to demonstrate autonomy in solving tasks, and to demonstrate understanding of the solution. Verification is done by oral conversation or written answers to questions about the tasks, and the result is evaluated. In the consultations, students are given additional explanations of the content presented in lectures and exercises, and in case the subject of consultations is the independent preparation of laboratory or home-based tasks, suggestions on how to improve the solution are also given.
