Students acquire specialized knowledge in the field of Computer-Aided Microelectronic Circuit Design. Students who complete the course: -design application-specific integrated circuits, -design a layout for ASIC in the software package Cadence, - ability to design operational amplifier with specified performance Physical Level Systems Design. Temporal analysis and optimization. The active surface optimization. Placement planning. Placement- key algorithms of CAD. The circuit sequence design. Verification. RTL (register-transfer level). DSM (deep sub micron) effects. ASIC (application-specifis integrated circuits). SIP (system in package). SOC (system on chip) and SOP (system on package). Advanced design in the software package Cadence. Frequency dependence of the basic amplifer circuits (common source, common drain, common gait, cascode amplifier, differential amplifier). Negative feedback and its influence on the circuit performace in ideal and real case. Noise influence on basic amplifier circuit performance ((common source, common drain, common gait, cascode amplifier, differential amplifier). Design of the operational amplifier with predefined performance (telescopic topology,folded amplifier topology, two-stage amplifier topology). Techniques for amplification enhancement.
