Mastering the basic knowledge related to the usage of radio transmission for remote data transfer. Introduction to the contemporary radio systems.
Theoretical knowledge about antennas, propagation and system aspects of radio communications. The usage of computer simulations in radio transmission analysis.
Development of radio-communications. Electromagnetic wave properties. Transfer function of radio-connection. Antennas, the characteristics and parameters. Antenna arrays and systems. EM wave propagation, attenuation in the free space, the impact of Earth, atmosphere and ionosphere on the propagation of waves. Fading. Transmission techniques for fading channels (diversity). Multiple access techniques (FDMA, TDMA, CDMA, SDMA). Review and systematization of mobile radio systems: Indoor coverage IEEE 802.11 - Wi-Fi; cellular systems 4G LTE-A; V2V communications; Satellite systems and localization; Radar systems.
Lectures; Auditory, computer and laboratory exercises.
