Subject: Continuum Biomechanics
(12 -
BMI128) Basic Information
Course specification
Course is active from 06.11.2012.. Enabling students to formulate basic governing equations in the field of fluid and solid mechanics and then to use them for modeling and solving in medical problems. The acquired knowledge enables students to derive and solve, analytically or numerically, governing equations of continuum mechanics describing behavior of bones, blood and cells as a consequence of mechanical action.
Transport processes in biology. Basic of continuum mechanics. Stress analysis. Kinematics and dynamics of continuum. Governing equations of continuum mechanics. Biphasic Theory.Transport phenomenas. Cardiovascular system. Heart. Blood vessels. Blood reologycal . Viscoelasticity. Poroelasticity and thermoelasticity. Analysis of diseases from mechanical point of view. Methods for solving partial differential equations. Lectures. Auditory practice. Consultations. The use of computer for solving some problems..
