Course is active from 01.10.2014.. Establishing the basic knowledge about theatre and drama arts as complex phenomena in culture and society. Getting awareness of relationship among theatre and drama arts with other historical and contemporary artistic practices. Students ability to follow, understand and evaluate contemporary theatre and drama production. Ability to apply acquired knowledge in study, research and creative work in the area of scene architecture, technique and design. Term, characteristics and types of theatre. Origins of theatre and development through history. Contemporary theatre phenomena. The role of traditions in contemporary theatre. The role of history in contemporary theatre. The key values and figures in theatre history. Development of contemporary theatre and drama practices. Theatre performance as a complex sincretic product. Relation among theatre and other scenic arts. Structure and process of theatre performance creation. Components and creative lines of theatre performance.
