Course specification
Course is active from 01.10.2013.. Main task of this course is to enable insight in synthesized and pluralistic character of the theatre, where all possible themes have equal significance and where individual's contribution in any domain reaches its full sense only through co-operational creation. This will be achieved through research and understanding of complex spatial theatre's structure, through constant expanding the number of themes and issues, as well as through bringing different problematic levels onto same plane. Acquired ability of understanding the state of play in the field of performance space architecture; acquired knowledge on historical development of spectacle buildings; students' acquired ability to practically apply different procedures of theoretical and critical interpretation of theatre architecture, scene design and technique phenomena. Clearly formed individual attitudes and ability of their presentation, argumentation and verbal challenging are expected from students at the end of this course. Theatre, spectacle and performance space. Contemporary performance buildings and spaces. Contemporary theatre buildings' structures. Technological processes and their influence on theatre building's architectural structure. Performance space (stage plus auditorium) in the theatre building's structure. Critical view on history of design and development of the performance buildings. Modern movements and theatre space. Lectures, exercises, workshops and individual students' work.
