Course is active from 03.10.2012.. Students learn to perform basic techniques of solid recyclable materials testing and interpretation of results. Ability of quality assessment of materials pertaining to specific applications,especially from a viewpoint of the quality of the recycled material compared to the starting material. Physical properties important for recyclable materials (mechanical, electrical, thermal and optical properties of solid materials). Basics of methods for investigating the recyclable materials (UV/VIS/NIR spectroscopy, Raman spectroscopy, FTIR, NMR, SEM, AFM, TEM, DSC, DTA, IIT). Plastics. Optical, mechanical and thermal properties of plastics. Rubber. Determination of chemical composition of rubber. Thermal properties of rubber.Glass, types. Glass structure. Optical, mechanical and thermal properties of glass. Metals. Electrical, mechanical and thermal properties of metals. Quality relation of representative features of anew and recycled materials.
