Dr Nikša Jakovljević received B.Sc. with Highest Honour, M.Sc., and Ph.D. degrees in electrical engineering from the Faculty of Technical Sciences, University of Novi Sad, Novi Sad, Serbia in 2002, 2009 and 2014 respectively. He is now associate professor at Faculty of Technical Sciences, University of Novi Sad, Serbia. He has authored over 40 refereed publications in journals and in international conferences, and actively participates in the review process of many related journal and conference proceedings. His research interests include digital (audio) signal processing and machine learning. He gained his research experience through several research and development project in automatic speech and speaker recognition, and through collaboration with AlfaNum Speech Technologies – the leading Serbian company in automatic speech recognition and synthesis in Serbian. Through this collaborative work with the software development company, he learned and used scrum methodology. He has 69 citations (excluding self-citations) and his h-index is 6 according to SCOPUS. He was leading member of the team who won 2nd prize in Scientific Challenge on Respiratory Signal Processing organized by International Federation for Medical and Biological Engineering, in 2017. He was the advisor of the awarded team in IEEE Signal Processing Cup 2016.
