Ivan Kaštelan, PhD in electrical and computer engineering, completed his undergraduate, master's and doctoral studies at the University of Novi Sad, Faculty of Technical Sciences in 2008, 2009 and 2014 respectively, with a GPA of 10.00 (out of 10) in all three degrees. In 2008, he was declared the best graduate student of the Faculty of Technical Sciences. In 2014, he received the "Momčilo Momo Novković" Foundation award for exceptional teaching work. He is currently employed as a full professor at the Faculty of Technical Sciences, Department of Computing and Control Engineering where he serves as the Head of the Computer Engineering and Computer Communications Group and the Head of the study program „Computing and Control Engineering“. His current areas of interest are digital and computer system design, algorithm design, and engineering education. During his research work, he worked on the problem of verification of consumer electronics devices with touch screens, development of platforms and teaching materials for the needs of engineering education in the field of computer engineering. He managed a project financed by the Provincial Secretariat for Higher Education and Scientific Research. He participated in 4 European, 2 national and 2 provincial projects, and is currently a researcher at the Horizon Europe project TaRDIS (Trustworthy and Resilient Decentralized Intelligence for Edge Systems). As a member of the IEEE association, he volunteered as the head of IEEE Serbia & Montenegro Section – Consumer Technologies Society Chapter. He is the TPC Chair of the IEEE conference ZINC and a member of the Program Committee of the IEEE conference MIPRO. He is the author or co-author of 10 papers in international journals, 2 papers in national journals, over 100 papers in conference proceedings, 13 technical solutions, 13 patents, a textbook and a problems book.
