Milan Gavrilović was born in 1995 in Belgrade. After completing his high school education in 2014, he enrolled in undergraduate academic studies at the Faculty of Technical Sciences in Novi Sad, majoring in Geodesy and Geomatics. He completed his undergraduate studies in 2018 with a thesis titled "Analysis of the Length Differences Between Georeferential Surfaces Using the Digital Height Models". In the same year, he enrolled in the master's academic studies in Geodesy and Geomatics. In 2019, he defended his master's thesis in the field of remote sensing titled "Zoning of Agricultural Fields Using Vegetation Indices". In the academic year 2019/2020, he enrolled in doctoral academic studies at the Faculty of Technical Sciences in Novi Sad, majoring in Geodesy and Geomatics, with a narrower scientific focus on Geoinformatics.
During his studies, he was a scholarship recipient from the Fund for Young Talents of the Republic of Serbia - Dositeja and a scholarship recipient from the Ministry of Education, Science, and Technological Development. After completing his undergraduate studies, he received an award from the Faculty of Technical Sciences for completed studies (GPA 9.50-9.99). After completing his master's studies, he received an award for being the best student in the field of Civil Engineering and Geodesy from the Faculty of Technical Sciences.
Since January 1, 2020, he has been employed at the Faculty of Technical Sciences in Novi Sad as an Intern Researcher and a Teaching Assistant since October 1, 2022. From the very beginning of his work at the faculty, he actively participated in the implementation and delivery of lectures and computer exercises in several study programs at the Faculty of Technical Sciences in Novi Sad (Geodesy and Geoinformatics, Disaster Risk Management and Fire Safety, Clean Energy Technologies, Mechanical Engineering, etc.), as well as in the Geoinformatics study program at the Faculty of Science in Novi Sad. He also participated in implementing professional practice in the Geodesy and Geoinformatics study program at the Faculty of Technical Sciences in Novi Sad.
He is the author and co-author of more than 15 scientific papers published in international and national scientific journals and at international and domestic conferences. He is a co-author of one primary textbook titled "Application of GIS Tools in Creating Thematic Maps - A Textbook with Practical Examples," as well as two auxiliary textbooks titled "Cartographic Projections - A Manual for Computer Exercises" and "Remote Sensing and Image Processing - A Handbook for Laboratory Exercises," which were published by the Faculty of Technical Sciences. He also actively participated in implementing several projects, including processing aerial, satellite, and UAV images and LiDAR data.
His higher education, work experience, involvement in teaching, and research and scientific work are all dedicated to the narrower scientific field of Geoinformatics. His areas of interest include geographical information systems, remote sensing, photogrammetry, laser scanning, and the application of geoinformation technologies and systems in various fields such as agriculture and forestry, etc.
