Darko Sekulić (born in Novi Sad, 1997) is a Master of Scene Architecture and Technique. He completed his undergraduate studies in Scene Architecture, Technique, and Design in 2021 with the thesis titled "Conceptual Design for the Center for Urban Development and Psychogeography." Subsequently, he finished his master's academic studies in Scene Architecture and Technique at the Faculty of Technical Sciences, University of Novi Sad, in 2023. His master's thesis was titled In Search of New Interactions between Architecture and Theater – Conceptual Design for the Dance Theater Češki Magacin.
During his studies, Darko was a member of the technical team responsible for implementing extracurricular programs in the space of the stage laboratory "Borislav Gvojić" and other events organized by the Department of Art and Design at the Faculty of Technical Sciences. He was also part of the team involved in the design, technical production, and realization of events in the SCENLab_Dancefloor season 2019/20 within the SCENLab program.
Darko worked as a teaching assistant for the courses Scene Architecture 1 and 2 during the 2020/21 academic year at the Department of Scene Architecture, Technique, and Design. He participated in two international architectural competitions (ARKxSite and Reuse Italy – Reuse the Fallen Church – Chiesa Diruta). In June 2021, he participated in the 43rd Architecture Salon in Belgrade at the Museum of Applied Arts, showcasing his work "CommonGround" in the exhibition of student and competition projects.
In September 2022, Darko was part of the technical production and realization team for the Festival of Scenic Design Biennale 2022 (BiSD), as part of the Novi Sad 2022 – European Capital of Culture program. Additionally, he attended the CollabTape workshop on spatial design with the artistic group Numen For Use from Zagreb. Darko was also a member of the technical production and realization team for the exhibition "Redrawing" at the Museum of Applied Arts in Belgrade.
Finally, Darko was part of the technical production team for Serbia's performance at the Prague Quadrennial, where the Republic of Serbia won two awards – the award for the most imaginative concept of work in the student exhibition category and the award for community activation in the countries and regions exhibition category. Since February 2023, Darko has been employed as a teaching associate at the Department of Art and Design, Department of Architecture and Urban Planning, Faculty of Technical Sciences, University of Novi Sad.
Sekulić D.: U POTRAZI ZA NOVIM INTERAKCIJAMA ARHITEKTURE I POZORIŠTA – IDEJNO REŠENJE PLESNOG POZORIŠTA „ČEŠKI MAGACIN“ / Ovaj rad obuhvata teorijsko istraživanje ključnih pojmova, a na osnovu radova drugih autora: prostor (prostor-vreme), dramaturgija prostora, grad, tekstualnost, ideologija; pritom istovremeno gradeći jedinstvenu diskurzivnu poziciju. Dakle teorijsko istraživanje čini osnovu rada iz koje kasnije proističe manifest pozorišta – lični stav o pozorištu. U ovom manifestu postavljam ideologiju na kojoj će pozorište biti utemeljeno, dok kroz analizu referentnih primera istražujem različite pristupe procesa očuvanja objekata industrijskog nasleđa i gradim kritički stav prema uticaju pozorišta na savremeno društvo.
