Course is active from 24.08.2017.. Introduction to the system for real-time transmission of speech, video and multimedia through IP networks. Knowing all the elements and characteristics of VoIP (Voice over IP) systems such as signal coding, data transmission, signaling and application of VoIP systems in practice.
Introduction (technology and signaling of PSTN networks, why and how VoIP). TCP/IP, RTP/RTCP protocols. Speech-coding techniques. Signaling systems protocols and elements (H.323, SIP, MGCP, MEGACO). Connecting PSTN and VoIP (SS7, SIGTRAN, SCTP). Quality of service in VoIP (parameters and solutions: RSVP, DiffServ, MPLS). Designing a VoIP networks. Next generation network. IP PBX. VoIP regulation.
