P208) Basic Information
Course specification
Course is active from 01.10.2007.. Acquiring basic knowledge in the field of cutting technologies which is used in product design and optimal cutting parameters selection. Acquired knowledge should enable designers of machines and other devices to accurately design products and technologists to design phases of production and selection of optimal cutting parameters. Significance and application of cutting technologies in contemporary production. Description of machining systems. General cutting theory (process of chip formation, type of chip, depositions on tools, forces and cutting temperature, cooling fluid, tool wear, machinability of materials, productivity, quality and accuracy of machining). Application of cutting theory on turning, milling, drilling, grinding. Basics of cutting machines (classical and NC machine tools for individual, serial and mass production). Flexible manufacturing systems. CIM manufacturing concept. Lectures. Auditory and computing practice. Individual consultations.
