Dr Ivan Mezei is a Full Professor at the Department of power, electronics and telecommunications, Faculty of Technical Sciences (FTS), University of Novi Sad, Serbia. He graduated (dipl. ing., M.Sc. and PhD) from the Faculty of Technical Sciences, University of Novi Sad, Serbia in 1999., 2005. and 2012., respectively. Dr Mezei has 20+ years of experience in Embedded system design. He published 3 books, 2 book chapters, >15 journal papers, and more than 40 conference papers. Dr Mezei acted as a reviewer for >20 peer-reviewed journals, >40 conferences, and he was a TPC member for >40 conferences. He has been involved as a principal investigator, a senior researcher, a work package leader, a supervisor, or a team leader in several international projects financed by the European Commission programs or by the companies. His current research interests include the Internet of Things (especially LPWAN), Security in Industrial IoT, Localization, and Wireless sensors, actuators and robot networks.
He held various courses at FTS: Microprocessor electronics, Computer electroniks, Basics od electronics, Introduction to microcomputer electronics, Microprocessor and microcontroller systems basics, Embeded software development,Multiprocessor systems, Advanced mikroprocessor systems, Networked embedded systems, IoT technologies and edge computing, Machine learning in IoT technologies and Sajber-physical systems. At SRH University in Heidelberg, Germany he held Real-time programming at M.Eng. level.
Ivan is married, father of one child and lives in Novi Sad. He speaks English and has a basic knowledge of Hungarian. He is a Senior IEEE member. He holds a black belt IV Dan degree in TDRAikido and he is a certified operational trainer. Sometimes he plays guitar or bass guitar.
