Tibor Lukić was born in Kikinda (Yugoslavia) on February 13, 1974. He received the bachelor degree from the Faculty of Sciences, University of Novi Sad, in 1998. He received an M.Sc. degree from the same faculty in the field of numerical mathematics (2004). At the Faculty of Technical Sciences, University of Novi Sad, he received Master degree in the field of digital image processing (2008), and PhD degree in the field of applied mathematics (2011). From 1998 he has been employed at the Faculty of Technical Sciences in Novi Sad, where he teaches mathematics for engineering students. In 2022, he was appointed to the position of full professor for theoretical and applied mathematics. His research interest is in image processing, numerical analysis and optimization methods. He has held visiting positions at the following universities: University of Udine (Italy), University of Szeged (Hungary), Technical University of Vienna (Austria), Technical University of Budapest (Hungary), University of Debrecen (Hungary) and University of Exeter (United Kingdom). He has significant activities working with doctoral students, including supervision of PhD and Master's thesis and serving as committee member for doctoral thesis defense. He is an active invited lecturer at the Summer School on Image Processing (SSIP), dedicated mostly for PhD students. He has served as general chair for several international scientific events, including SSIP'17, IWCIA'20, and SSIP'23. Since 2003, he has been a member of the external public body of the Hungarian Academy of Sciences. He is fluent in Hungarian, Serbian and English.
