Miroslav Popovic was born in Novi Sad, Serbia, in 1961. He received his Dipl. Eng., M.Sc., and Ph.D. degrees from the Faculty of Technical Sciences, University of Novi Sad, Serbia, in 1984, 1988, and 1990, respectively.
He is a Full Professor at the University of Novi Sad from 2002. Currently he is giving courses on parallel programming, real-time systems programming, and computer communications and computer networks. In the past, he has supervised many real-world projects for the industry, mostly in real-time and embedded systems. He has authored or co-authored 36 papers in journals on the SCI list, more than 120 international conference papers, and 5 patents. His research interests are engineering of computer-based systems, intelligent distributed systems, and security.
Dr. Popovic is the author of the internationally known book “Communication protocol engineering, Second Edition” (published by CRC Press, Taylor & Francis Group, in 2018). According to Scopus his current h-index is 12.
