Course is active from 29.08.2017.. The objective of the subject is to familiarize students with the flow of ideas, theories and practices within wider social, historical, philosophical or artistic contexts, which generated emergence and development of modern architecture, art and culture in 19th century. The outcome of the course is to train students in comprehensive understanding of causal links in the development of modern architecture, art and culture, observed within context of social, political, economic, and cultural occasions in the 19th century. The course will enable students to see the man-made environment, artistic and cultural milieu of the epoch in their entirety, as well as to be able to formulate their own high-quality critical and analytical observations, positions, and knowledge about architecture, art, and culture in 19th century. The subject researches architecture and town planning from in the 19th century; the processes of industrialization and urbanization; the emergence of modern cities, the new scientific and technical discoveries; the new political and social conceptions, the new concepts in art, as well as their direct impact on the man-made environment, art and culture of early modern era.
