Course is active from 01.10.2003.. The objective of the course is to provide techniques and tools that will help the student to understand how it is possible to create and maintain an edge over competitors and to achieve strategic objectives. The course involves an analysis of the mission and vision, business policies, the firm's resources and corporate strategy. This course develops students' strategically approach of thinking during the process of business decision-making in the company. Students who complete this course successfully will be able to use methods, techniques and tools, and knowledge gained through the case study, to create and implement specific strategies in the company. Introduction to Strategic Management; Concepts, methods and techniques of strategic management; Models and strategic management processes; Methods and processes of transformation of the organization - acquisitions, mergers, restructuring, outsourcing, software quality, knowledge management - KM; New concepts and approaches to strategic management. Lectures and exercises, consultations, expert visits to specific companies, case study and seminar papers.
