Course is active from 01.10.2014.. Establishing basic knowledge of theatre and performing arts as complex phenomena in culture and society. Building the awareness of the relations between performing arts and other historical and contemporary creative practices. Ability of students to monitor, understand and appreciate contemporary theatre and stage production. Ability to apply the acquired knowledge in study, research and creative work in the field of scene architecture, technique and design. Concept, characteristics and types of theatre. The emergence and development of theatre through history. Contemporary phenomena in theatre. The place of tradition in contemporary theatre. The place of history in a contemporary theatre. Basic values in the history of theatre since its creation until today. Development of contemporary artistic practices in scenic art. Theatre performance as a complex syncretic product. Presentation methods, perceptions and receptions of theatre and theatre play. Relationship between theatre and other scenic arts. Lectures and workshops. Discussions. Individual student research work.
