Course specification
Course is active from 01.10.2005.. Enabling students for abstract thinking, generalization and acquisition of mathematical knowledge for technical application. The aim of this course is to develop a special way of thinking by using basic mathematical principles and its applications. The knowledge they gain is a basis for a better understanding other professional courses and for a successful continuation in studies. The student is able to apply mathematical models in professional courses. Knowledge they have acquired, students learn to apply methods gained on this course and to choose algorithms for solving future problems in professional field. Complex numbers. Determinants and systems of linear equations (Cramer`s rule, Gauss algorithm). Vector algebra in space R3, line, plane. Matrices (operations, inverse matrix). Polynomials and rational functions. Number sequences, functions of one variable (boundary values, continuity, differential calculus and application). Lectures and practice are auditory with calculation. Partial examinations (colloquia) are taken after bigger chapters.
